(Hamilton, ON) - Golden Horseshoe Green Tech (GHGT) has received funding for a community sustainability project, headed by GHGT, under the Ontario Job Creation Partnership program. A call for talent, passion and service!
Golden Horseshoe Green Tech (GHGT) has been awarded $10,000 by U. S. Steel Canada to support the GHGT E-Laboratory in Hamilton’s North End. The funds will help to bolster GHGT’s unique e-lab project which recovers hardware components from electronic waste, rebuilds computer systems and returns these reconstructed systems back into the community. Many of the refurbished units are donated to those in need throughout the community. GHGT’s innovative model has transformed a waste problem into a job creation opportunity.
Our last event was such a big success that we have been invited back to Upper Oakville Shopping Centre. So, please mark your calendars and inform your neighbours and friends in Oakville. This is your last chance before the fall and winter sets in, to recycle those old electronics sitting around in your basements…
As promised we have an exciting update regarding the students who are a part of the Robotics Club here at Golden Horseshoe Green Tech!
These students have been working hard developing a robot that they will showcase in the 2012 Innovation Nation Robotics Competition this July.
The Robot is being designed to act as a guide in museums using QR code technology.
